my story

I have a deep passion for extreme sports and enjoy immersing myself in sporting advertisements found in sports shops, social media, and events. I’m constantly inspired by the creative ideas I encounter and love the challenge of recreating them in my own unique style.

Career Goal: One day, I aspire to join Red Bull Media House, traveling the world to watch and participate in extreme sports. My dream is to create videos / social media assets and branding for top professionals, combining my love for sports with my creative skills.

I have a strong foundation in both freelance and agency environments. My journey in design began with early work experience at AGCO Corporation in 2014, where I developed a keen interest in seeing designs come to life in a real-world setting and started to appreciate the power of effective visual communication with real customers.

I graduated from Arts University Bournemouth in 2019 with an upper second-class honours degree and soon after secured an internship opportunity in Australia at the Byron Bay International Film Festival.

Here, I collaborated on social media campaigns and VR projects, which was an incredible experience both professionally and personally. Living away from home and working harder than ever since graduation, I had the chance to be part of an amazing team and contribute to some truly awesome work.

Just before returning to the UK, I worked at a printing company, where I expanded my knowledge of the printing industry. I applied the skills I gained from my internship and learned about key processes such as bleed, printing on oversized A3 paper, flipping on short and long edges, and various folding and binding techniques. This experience has been invaluable and will continue to inform my work in future roles.

I worked as a Junior Graphic Designer with Lid Project, Tayroc, and Counter Culture Store, where I played a pivotal role in enhancing each brand's online presence through strategic content creation and comprehensive website redesigns. At Lid Project and Tayroc, I created engaging Instagram and TikTok content that resonated with audiences, driving sales and boosting brand visibility. I also voluntarily redesigned the Lid Project website, leading to an improved user experience. During my time at Counter Culture Store, I provided creative support by editing video content and applying animations to enhance product presentation. Additionally, I optimized the online store through SEO strategies, significantly boosting website traffic. These roles were challenging, with high pressure and tight deadlines, but they taught me invaluable lessons in time management and thriving in fast-paced environments.

I officially became self-employed under the brand bxcwork, focusing on logo and branding design.

One of my early projects as a self-employed graphic designer was designing a menu for Milk and Mocha Cafe in Kenilworth.

In addition to logo and branding work, I’ve also designed menus, wedding invitations, and business advertisements, collaborating remotely with clients across the UK.

I continue to manage a diverse range of projects daily, including social media content, leaflets, posters, video editing, animation, and print materials. Driven by a strong interest in the sporting community, I’ve also delved into merchandise printing, recently collaborating with Netball Leagues to produce branded apparel. Additionally, I’ve designed social media assets to help promote the company.

The creative industry is challenging, and I’ve encountered my fair share of setbacks, but each day offers new learning opportunities. I’m passionate about supporting startups and budget-conscious companies, helping them bring their businesses into the spotlight. I thrive on creative challenges and am dedicated to delivering impactful, engaging designs. I eagerly embrace every new challenge that comes my way.
